This past week, work had to come first, and unfortunately it interfered with my workouts.
Between traveling and sitting in meetings all day, I was just not able to have my daily two hour workouts. But knowing how important it is to be consistent and not fall out of my routine, I still managed to get in as much cardio as time allowed. I absolutely did not want all my hard work to be for nothing! And I knew that one week off could set me back quite a bit. Determined not to let that happen, here is the workout I was still able to sneak in:
- Monday: 2 mile run + yoga
- Tuesday: No workout
(had to get ready for trip) - Wednesday: Travel Day
- Thursday: 20 minute intense core workout
- Friday: 35 minute run
- Saturday: 35 minute run
- Sunday: 1.5 miles on treadmill + full body workout + 2 mile hilly run (Home and back in action!)
The plus side to this week was that I was in Austin, Texas! Running in a new place is always fun and exciting. I love being able to run without really knowing just how far or challenging the run ahead will be. And being in a new city does exactly that! Between the city streets, University of Texas campus and the gorgeous Capitol Building, I was able to cover a lot of ground, observing the Texan culture along the way! And the high temperatures made for a killer sweat (and not too bad a tan either)!
So while I did have to give up more workout time, I’d say it was a fair trade to have the opportunity to experience a great new city on my own two feet! But now that I’m back home, the fun and games are over…
